Development and implementation of FTTH projects

The implementation and operation of an FTTH fibre optic network involves several critical processes to ensure smooth operation. From detailed planning and design, through installation and testing, to maintenance and support. Each stage is essential to ensure an efficient, reliable and high-speed network.

The implementation of FTTH technology has several stages and processes that are required to carry out its installation and operation:

  1. Network planning: In this first step of the process, a detailed planning of the FTTH network is carried out based on customer data. This is where it is decided how the network will be installed and how it will operate, considering factors such as geography, type of structure, population density, cost-effectiveness, available resources, among others
  2. Network design: At this stage, a team of engineers designs the detailed network according to standardised criteria. The locations of the connection points and the routes to be used to reach the end customer in the most optimal way are determined.
  3. Network construction: In this process, new infrastructure is constructed so that the new fibre optic network can be installed in the planned areas. It is essential that the installation is done correctly and following the design established from the beginning to avoid problems in the future.
  4. Configuration and testing: Once the FTTH network has been installed, configuration and testing is carried out to ensure that it is working correctly. Tests are carried out for resilience, fluidity, power loss and faults.
  5. Activation: After testing has been completed, the network is activated in the planned areas so that the end customer has access to the service.
  6. Maintenance and support: Once the FTTH network is up and running, it is important to constantly monitor the signal quality and speed of the network. Technicians will regularly perform inspections and upgrades to ensure that the network is functioning optimally.
